Oleksandr Usyk is an Olympic winner, triple unified world champion and unbeaten in 24 pro fights.
The champion Usyk says he will remain active for another two years and expects to fight again in 2026, but dismissed a match with British boxer Moses Itauma.
Usyk, thirty-eight, defeated Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in the summer to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.
Usyk, who had once owned all four recognized world titles at the cruiserweight division, had previously hinted that he would fight just one more time before hanging up his gloves.
Yet, the pound-for-pound fighter appears to have changed that plan.
"I plan to box until I turn forty-one," he told the Ready to Fight platform. "Then I plan to create a boxing school - I'll work out there and teach others."
The champion mentioned he is back to the gym after taking time off due to a spinal issue which led to the postponement of a fight with World Boxing Organization required opponent Joseph Parker.
He stated that, "God willing", he'll be back in the coming year but excluded young Chatham fighter Itauma as a potential opponent.
"No, I won't fight Itauma," Usyk stated. "He's a young man - always teasing me. And he said himself he doesn't hit older fighters."
"I am unable to reveal which opponent [{I'll fight next|I will face next|my next bout will be against] since negotiations are in progress. It would be dishonest if I provided a specific boxer."
The British boxer improved his undefeated streak to thirteen victories, with eleven KOs, by beating former world title challenger Dillian Whyte inside two minutes in the summer.
The WBA has instructed its regular titleholder Kubrat Pulev to fight Itauma as his next opponent, however the fighter from Bulgaria is eager to protect his title against Murat Gassiev in the UAE in the winter.
