Emails Reveal Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Ties

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters delayed speech don't think I can make the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were published on Wednesday together with more than 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to confirm his identity by matching the dates, events, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as the president's closest advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a film about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to release the film, the five-part series, next year - early next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally appearing to serve like a aide.

A few days prior to the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this morning with Nigel, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled British leader at the time, he added: "They are attempting to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as long as you can uk. Ideal- so others get the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the people here have little courage" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to step up".

May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should release all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who died in jail in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited this week after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has consistently rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
